What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized treatment that strengthens, lengthens, and recruits the muscles supporting all your pelvic organs. PFPT treats conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, diastasis recti, and postpartum recovery — using manual therapy, biofeedback, breathwork, and targeted therapeutic exercises. At Modern Core, every session is one full hour, one-on-one, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

What to Expect

Care that feels safe from the first hello

Pelvic health can feel vulnerable. Here, you set the pace — every step is explained, and nothing happens without your consent.

01

Listen & Assess

We start with your story and goals, then a thorough, comprehensive evaluation. Any internal exam is always optional and consent-based.

02

A Plan Made for You

You'll leave your first visit with a clear, personalized plan — hands-on treatment, movement, breathwork, and a simple home routine.

03

Restore & Graduate

We work together until you're back to the life you love — pain-free, leak-free, and confident. Many patients "graduate" in weeks.

— Adam P.
★★★★★

"I went to two other pelvic therapists who I feel didn't understand me. I found Corrine and she knew exactly what to do, and walked me through her plan each session until I 'graduated.'"

— Joanne M.

Insurance & Investment

Transparent pricing, real one-on-one care

We're an out-of-network practice — and that's by design. It means a full hour of focused, doctor-led care every visit, never rushed and never double-booked. We make reimbursement simple.

  • ✓ Many patients are reimbursed 50–80% once their out-of-network deductible is met
  • ✓ HSA & FSA accepted
  • ✓ No referral needed to start care in California
  • ✓ A simple script for what to ask your insurance

Good Questions

The things people ask first

An internal exam can be a helpful part of assessment, but it's always optional and fully consent-based. Dr. Macchi explains every step, and there are effective external and movement-based approaches if you prefer. You're in control at every visit.

No. In the state of California, you can see a physical therapist directly for your initial evaluation and for 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever may come first, without a referral from your medical provider. You can book your first consult right away.

Every body is different, but many patients feel meaningful relief within a few weeks and "graduate" from care in a matter of weeks to a few months. You'll get an honest estimate after your evaluation.
